This reversible summer top designed for 18-inch dolls has an A-line shape and has shoulder ties that could be fastened at the shoulders. It can be made with two contrast fabrics and can worn inside out. This makes it two outfits in one.

Materials Needed:
- Fabric (cotton, lightweight linen, or knit---Use two different colored fabrics so the top could be reversible.)
- Matching thread
- Scissors
- Pins or clips
- Sewing machine (or hand-sewing needle)
- Cross-grain fabric strips (preferably in a contrast color) for the shoulder ties
- Measuring tape
- Iron
Steps to Sew the Doll Top:

Neckline: 1/4 inchArmholes: 1/4 inchSide seam: 1/2 inchBottom hem: 1/2 inch
2. Cut the Fabric
- Cut one front piece and one back piece from the main fabric on fold.
- Cut one front piece and one back piece from the lining fabric on fold.
- Now you have 2 front pieces from the main and lining fabrics, and 2 back pieces from the main and lining fabrics.
3. Join the side seams of the front and back of the top's lining and main sides
- With right sides facing, sew the sides of the front and back main pieces together, with a 1/2 inch seam allowance.
- With right sides facing, sew the sides of the front and back lining pieces together, with a 1/2 inch seam allowance.
4. Sew the neckline edge
- With right sides facing, slip the lining piece of the top into the main piece of the top.
- Sew the front neckline edge of the top's lining and main together with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.
- Then sew the back neckline edge of the top's lining and main together with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.
5. Attach the Shoulder Ties
- Turn the top inside out.
- Cut cross-grain fabric strips about 8 inches long and 1 inch wide each.
- Fold the strips 1/4 inch down the wrong side, lengthwise. Then, fold the strip in half, lengthwise and press. Sandwich the armhole into this folded strip, pin to keep them together, and then stitch along the edge.
6. Hem the Bottom Edge
- Fold the bottom edge 1/4 inch up and press.
- Sew along the folded edge.
Final Touches
- Trim any loose threads.
- Try the top on your doll and adjust the shoulder ties as needed.
